Lee: We want to take Clare down the home stretch

Limerick manager Bill Lee feels that if they can stick with Clare until the final quarter of their Munster SFC clash this weekend, then they have a great chance of causing an upset.

Clare are strong favourites to advance to the Munster SFC semi-final and see off the challenge of a Limerick side that languish in NFL Division 4.

The Shannonsiders have home advantage for tomorrow evening's game and Lee is hoping that they can keep with Clare in the early part of the game as it will give his charges the confidence to push on, while putting doubt in the minds of their opponents.

"Let's take Clare down the home stretch and take it from there and that's what we will ask the players to do," Lee states in the Limerick Leader.

He added: "On May 19th lets get on with it and lets get in there and get amongst them and see what we can do. Being competitive is the very least that I expect and our lads are capable of that.

"We will focus on where we are - anything is possible with the right set up and the right people on board."
