Patrickswell Club Notes

April 16, 2018

JUNIOR A HURLERS: Patrickswell were pushed  hard by Mungret in the City League and only pulled away in the final ten minutes. Darragh Ahern scored a superb volleyed goal from a high ball after five minutes. The remainder of the half was very competitive and the teams reached half-time level at 1-3 to 0-6.

The second half began in attacking fashion as a Mungret goal gave our opponents a 1-7 to 1-4 lead. Patrickswell responded almost immediately and scored a second goal to restore parity at 2-5 to 1-8. As the light faded and Mungret tired, the 'Well launched a final ten-minute onslaught that yielded 1-7 without a reply. This purple patch put some gloss on a tough match. Patrickswell ran out the 3-12 to 1-8 winners.

SENIOR HURLERS: All roads lead to the Gaelic Grounds as Patrickswell meet Adare in the opening match of the group. The match is fixed for Saturday April 21 at 4.45pm.

MINOR HURLERS: The boys start their County Championship campaign with a visit to Adare on Wednesday April 18 at 7pm.

CLOTHES RECYCLING: Thanks to everyone who dropped off clothes for the camogie club's recycling drive. Your generosity is appreciated.
