Oughteragh Gaels league champions

On Saturday last our ladies team successfully overcame St Francis to be crowned Division 2 league champions.

The first half was a close encounter with the teams very evenly matched, our girls went in at half time down one point: 1-7 to 1-6.
However the second half the ladies came out fighting and really stepped up their work rate and effort. They showed real determination and teamwork to level the game and to go on and take the lead which they never lost in the second half. A phenomenal save by goalkeeper Chloe Harvey halted any sign of a St Francis' comeback and drove the girls on to victory.
The 60minutes of football showed a great mixture of leadership from the more  experienced players combined with the enthusiastic youthful players.
Special mention towards the management team of Rory O'Rourke and Tommy Dolan for their sustained encouragement and belief in this dedicated groups of girls.
Congratulations to all involved.

Dunnes ACL Division One

Our Seniors were in action on Saturday gone in great conditions in the pairc where we took on our neighbors Aughnasheelin. It was a tough and hard fought game against a determined Aughnasheelin team. The visitors started the better and were soon 4 points up before we added our opening score. It was a tight first half with us leading by 1 point at the break with the score 0:8 to 0:7. The second half was played in the same vain with nip and tuck scores from both teams keeping the margins very close with 50 mins of the game gone the scores were still level at 0:11 each. It was only in the laser few minutes with Luke and Peter adding a couple of great points before Mathew Morris added a well worked goal to make the game safe. Final score Ballinamore 1:14 Aughnasheelin 0:12
The result leaves us in second position in the league on seven points, one point behind Glencar Manor
Next game is away to Mohill on Saturday at 19:00
