Mohill club notes

Mohill

Smiling faces all round as seniors, ladies, and underage played challenges last week. The senior team had a useful challenge with Longford Slashers. There was a full squad and both teams adhered to the Covid-19 rules and regulations as laid down by Croke Park. The ladies had a strong challenge in Kilashee and looked none the worse for their long lay-off. Good news also as the walking track around the park is now open for members.

Get Well Wishes

Tough luck on underage players, Jack McCrann and James Foy who sustained broken bones lately, but not associated with football. Time will fly boys, ye will be back.

Recent Bereavement

We extend our deepest sympathy to Johnny Kennedy and his great footballing family on the death of his mother Eileen last week. Her grandchildren Seán, Ciarán and Ronan all play for Mohill and Roisin is our hardworking Scór co-ordinator. May she rest in peace

Recent Births

Congratulations to Maireád and Tomás Beirne on the birth of their little son Thomas. A little brother for Emma, Laura and Aoife. We wish this young family health and happiness.

New Baby

Congratulations to former Mohill Player Catherine Mills nee/Scollan and her husband Gary on the birth of their first baby in far off Australia. A little girl, Madeline. We will look forward to seeing all three visiting Mohill in the near future

Centra

Centra donated to the Club for the volunteer work at the supermarket during the severe restrictions. It was unexpected but greatly appreciated

Lotto

There was no jackpot winner last week. Lucky dip winners were €70 Mike Burke. €40 David Gordon. €20 Niall Beirne. All from Mohill. This week’s jackpot is €10,500.

History Book

The Club history book 1889 to 2015 published in 2016 is now available free in Pauls and Baxters Centra. Although many copies were sold at the time, there were too many printed and we have good amount available to distribute. It makes great reading for young and old and history never goes out of date. It is available from Maureen Lynch @ 0861765987.
