Fenagh St Caillins club notes

June 04, 2019

Fixtures This Week – On Tuesday evening 4th June the U13 and u14 Regional football competition commences. Fenagh St Caillins will play with St Brigids and McDiarmada Gaels as Sliabh an Iarainn Gaels. They take on Southern Gaels in Annaduff at 7pm (u13’s) and 8.15pm (u14’s).

Leitrim Teams – Fenagh St Caillins were represented on the Leitrim u20 team who were defeated by Fermanagh by Riordan O’Rourke, Conor Dwyer Jack Gilheany and Mark Keegan and on the u17 team who lost out to Roscommon by Eoin McLoughlin, Fergal McLoughlin, Caolan McDermott and Shane Smith. Also, in a unique combination, Fergal and Eoin McLoughlin played together at midfield for the Leitrim Celtic Challenge hurling team in their recent victory over Mayo. Great to see so many from the club playing for Leitrim in both codes. Best of luck to them for the remainder of their games and to Ryan O’Rourke and the Leitrim senior team who play Wicklow in the All Ireland Qualifiers on Saturday next.

Swan Bar Division 3 League – disappointingly we were unable to field a team for last weekends scheduled game against Drumkeeran.

Fundraising Car Wash - our annual car wash took place on Saturday last in the village. Thanks to everyone for their generous support. Funds raised will go towards our clubs underage teams and our u14’s preparations for Feile.

Abbey Rovers – well done to Fenagh St Caillins underage players Dara Greenan, Adam Reynolds and Colm McLoughlin who were part of the Abbey Rovers u13 soccer team who beat Newtown FC to win the Longford Schoolboys League.

Fenagh St  Caillin's Lotto - Yearly tickets are now due for renewal. Members of our Lotto Committee will be in touch in the coming days. Renewals are also available online via Klubfunder. New yearly members are very welcome. Thank you for your continuing support.

Sympathies – Fenagh St Caillins Gaa Club wish to express our sympathies to the family of the late Peadar Gibbons who passed away on Thursday last. Peadar was a former secretary of Fenagh St Caillins Gaa Club. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam dilis.
