Leitrim hurling manager Martin Cunniffe has revealed that they have appealed the result of their Lory Meagher Cup clash against Lancashire.

The Connacht side feel that they shouldn’t have had to play in such conditions as the referee was the only Croke Park appointed official there.

Cunniffe was furious that there was no appointed linesmen or umpires at the game played in Manchester.

Lancashire won the game, but Leitrim are appealing against the result and Cunniffe told the Leitrim Observer that everyone was behind the appeal.

“We have lodged the appeal,” said Cunniffe. “We are appealing against the conditions that the game was played under over there. All the lads were in favour of the appeal going forward.”
