The death occurred of Mr Joe O'Connor, Kyle, stradbally. 97 years young, Mr O'Connor was the last surviving member of one of the first ever Gaelic Football teams in the Ratheniska area, having been part of the Loughteague football team, which won the County Final in 1928. Joe is predeceased by his wife Johanna, and is deeply regretted by his sons Jim, Michael, Joe, Tom and daughter Catherine (Wheelan) and his sister Sheila Walsh of Durrow, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchild, nephews, nieces relatives and friends to whom deepest sympathy is extended. His remains were interred in Ratheniska Cemetery following requiem Mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart Stradbally. Courtesy of the Leinster Express 12 September, 2007
