Lawlor, Padraig

The Late Padraig Lawlor There was much sadness in Mountmellick GAA Club when news broke of the passing of Padraig Lawlor, formerly of St. Joseph's Terrace, Mountmellick. Padraig was one of the best dual players that ever played for the club. Padraig won Junior Football Championship in 1966, Intermediate Hurling Championship in 1967 and Intermediate Football Championship in 1968 and played senior for the club for some years later. Padraig was a great leader on the field and above all a great friend to all the players and officials of the club. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his wife Ann, his family, his brother and sisters, his relatives and friends. He will be remembered for his football and hurling prowess. Padraig - 'May you rest in peace'. Courtesy of the Leinster Express 20th May 2009
