How much of 250k do we get
It would be crazy to move to AVIVA stadium. The pitch was designed NOT to accommodate Gaelic games (the old "ban" in reverse) so would be way too small for ladies football and camogie. Anyhow, the FAI and IRFU would probably charge a fortune for access. Why leave the best stadium in the country for one with no history or relevance to our games? We might as well play the all-ireland final in Tallaght stadium altogether...

I agree with you Dingle 1 Ladies finals would be way better at the AVIVA stadium, the only worry is the size of the pitch, width would be fine, but length is quite a bit below the minimum, I am sure IRFU or FAI would not charge nearly as much as what GAA charge.

Ladies football should do a deal with the IRFU & FAI to have their finals played at the AVIVA Stadium.
Atmosphere would be much better with 25,000 in a 50K capacity stadium rather than same amount in a 85K stadium. The crowd would be bigger also as extra people would go for the novelty of seeing the new stadium.
Yes the pitch size would be smaller but ladies football should be played on a smaller pitch anyway.

I think in fairness when certain county teams are having to pay to keep the team going, a portion of 250k could be better spent than on a national stadium.

Who can stop Cork in 2010?
I'd say Dublin have the best chance and if not Cork for 6 in a row not 5 as stated above

I am just wondering how muck of 250k will go to ladies football/hurling. I think we should get our own national stadium developed for ladies games.

Awarding of points
I see a lot of people viewed this topic but nobody came up with an answer. Let the girls play in a play-off, maybe they will win maybe they wont. At least they will have been given a fair chance. Will this school enter a team next year? Probably not. A case like this should be brought before the relevent county board and disscussed. Hope the girls get a chance to play again. Good luck. I will keep watching this space.

What about, says mmmmmmm. A team has been done out of a play-off due to somebody taking it on themselves not to award them the points. I am sure if it was a lads team the rules would be different. What says you, mmmmmmm as I see you have a thought on everything?

New Rules?
No but some of them should i.e. the penalty being brought forward.
I don't agree with the mark being introduced into ladies & the handpass should remain as it is also in ladies football.
The 45 should be altered in the ladies game however - either it be allowed to be taken from the hands or the distance changed to a 35 metre off the ground kick. In all my years attending ladies' games I have never seen a 45 scored from the ground.

Awarding of points
By asking questions I found that it was somebody in Mayo who decided that the girls should not get the points and it was because they did not play a game on time. With the floods and schools closed because of the snow it was difficult to play. As it was my daughters team played on a Monday and again on the following day so to say that these girls did not play on time is stupid as they fulfilled two fixtures in two days. They should be given a FAIR chance.

I find it hard to believe that something like this could happen when the ladies GAA want to encourage girls to play. Many girls play with their school and may not play with clubs and not allowing them the points from this other team may put them off playing altogether. I think it is a disgrace that they did not get the points. Something like this should be brought to a higher authority and I would like to know who would not give them the points..... We need more girls in the game so come on POWERS THAT BE and get your act together and award the points.

If a team cant play another team are tha points awarded to them. The reason I am asking is recently in the junior C ladies post-primary a team lost out on a playoff. In the interest of fair-play which is strongly promoted by ladies GAA, this team of young girls should have been given a fair chance. I am a parent of one of these girls and she loves football and cant understand how this can happen.

New Rules?
Heard a lot about new rules in the mens, peno spot being moved forward, no more square ball etc, is this being implemented to Ladies football aswell?
