This weekend was the turn of the small ball code to take centre stage.

The Munster club SHC final is down for decision and this is always a game that whets hurling fans' appetites.

This year, Semple Stadium hosted the meeting of Cork's Glen Rovers and Clare champions Ballyea. Throw in was at 2pm.

Also down for decision were the Leinster club SHC semi-finals as Oulart-The Ballagh entertained O'Loughlin Gaels at Wexford Park (2pm) and Dublin champions Cuala travelled to Carlow where they took on St Mullins at Netwatch Cullen Park.

Meanwhile, the Ulster club IHC, Connacht IFC and JFC finals were all set to be decided this afternoon.
