Carnacon showed no mercy to Knockmore in today’s Mayo Ladies Senior football decider at Kilmeena.

After the well documented row that saw them thrown out of the competition before being reinstated following an appeal, Cora Staunton and her club-mates did their talking on the pitch with an emphatic 9-10 to 0-4 win to claim the club’s 20th title.

First half goals from Erina Flannery (2), Amy Dowling and Staunton boosted the holders into a 4-2 to 0-2 interval lead and the second-half followed a similar pattern.
