June 06, 2018

The late Mícheál McKeown.

There is great sadness in Louth GAA circles following the untimely passing of the county's ladies football manager Mícheál McKeown.

Mícheál (67) was taken ill before last Sunday's Leinster junior championship match against Kilkenny and died at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda yesterday.

A native of Channonrock, he was appointed manager of the Wee County ladies last October and his coaching curriculum vitae included All-Ireland success with Monaghan in 1996.

He guided Louth to last month's Lidl National Football League Division 4 final which they lost to Wicklow.

Louth LGFA has passed its condolences to his wife Mary, his family circle and many friends at this sad time.

Funeral Arrangements for Mícheál McKeown:

Reposing at his residence on Thursday (7th) from 11:30am to 9pm and on Friday (8th) from 11:30am to 9pm.

Removal on Saturday morning (9th) at 10:30am arriving to St. Edna's Church, Killanny for Funeral Mass at 11:30am.

Burial afterwards in adjoining Cemetery.
