Loreto College Cavan defeated Loreto Clonmel in the All Ireland Post Primary School Senior A final

Loreto Cavan 3-5
Loreto Clonmel 1-7

Loreto College Cavan delivered the second-half goods to down Loreto Clonmel in this afternoon's All Ireland Post Primary School Senior A final at Kinnegad.

The Cavan side recovered from a shaky start, which saw them conceding 1-1 in the opening two minutes, to go in all square at half-time thanks to a well-taken goal from 'Player of the Match' Lauren McVeety - sister of Cavan senior captain Dara - off the back of a sublime through ball from Ally Cahill.

Muireann Cusack's point had the scoreboard reading 1-3 each at the interval and the would-be winners put themselves in the lead for the first time via a Cahill point on 37 minutes.

The Breffni ladies pushed on from there with two goals from the lethal Cusack in the space of two minutes and while their Tipperary counterparts fought back gallantly with points from KellyAnn Hogan (2) and Jenny Everard, they couldn't get the goal they required and it left them four short in the end as the Cavan students claimed a historic All-Ireland triumph.
