Kilkenny GAA are to go stateside in order to raise some funds to help develop an all-weather floodlit playing pitch in the city.

During the county senior hurlers participation in the Fenway Classic in New York next month, a number of corporate events are set to be held.

It is hoped that with the funds raised, the new pitch can be constructed on the grounds of St Kieran’s College.

Many counties have fund raised in the States in the past and these events have proven to be very beneficial financially.
