A casual Jason Forde feels no extra pressure being Tipperary’s free taker.

Forde was handed the placed ball duties this year, taking over from team captain Seamus Callanan and he has amassed an impressive tally of 2-59 in their seven championship outings to date.

The Silvermines player stressed to the Tipperary Star that hitting the frees was no extra pressure on him.

“It’s just the responsibility I’ve been given this year, and we’re lucky that we have a couple of lads that can hit them. Seamie [Callanan] obviously hit them very well for years and years for Tipp, and you have Bubbles (John O’Dwyer) and Brendan Maher,” said Forde.

“I’ve just been handed the responsibility and I’m happy to do it, so I just take it as another part of the game.”
