Reid ambitious as ever

TJ Reid celebrates a goal for Kilkenny against Dublin

Kilkenny captain TJ Reid believes that they have the panel to contend for the All-Ireland title this year.

The Cats chances of lifting the Liam McCarthy Cup this year have been written off by many, but Reid feels they are wrong to do so.

Last Saturday, Reid led the way as Kilkenny defeated Dublin in the opening game of the Leinster SHC with the Ballyhale clubman hitting 2-12 in an impressive display.

They are strong favourites to see off Carlow this weekend and that would see them with one foot in the All-Ireland series.

“The team is young, but we have ambitions to go the whole way if we can,” Reid stressed to the Kilkenny People.

“We have top players to come back from injuries, so we are building. We have a few big weeks ahead of us. All we can do is put the heads down and work hard, and hopefully we can end up in Croke Park.”
