Kilkenny’s injury crisis looks to have worsened over the weekend with the news that full-back Conor Delaney suffered a broken foot during club duty.

Delaney was playing for his native Castlecomer against Danesfort when he suffered the injury which leaves him in doubt for the Cats’ Leinster SHC campaign.

The Irish Independent reports today that the same game saw Danesfort’s Richie Hogan having to be withdrawn after 22 minutes with a back injury.

While Hogan is still expected to face Dublin in his county’s championship opener a month from today, manager Brian Cody now has a serious concern over Delaney heading into the summer with injured pair Cillian Buckley and James Maher having already been ruled out.
