Cats still in dark over Delaney availability

Kilkenny still do not know whether or not Conor Delaney will be available for their Leinster SHC opener.

Delaney was shown a red card in the HL1A defeat to Wexford last month, meaning that he was handed an automatic one match ban.

The Erin’s Own clubman sat out the relegation play-off against Cork in the thinking that would be the suspension served, but the status of the game is up for debate and he may not have served the ban yet.

Cork’s Seamus Harnedy also missed the play-off through suspension and he is in the same boat as Delaney at the moment.

Delaney had been played at full back for the past few games and he looked set to start against Dublin on May 11th, but his participation in that game at Parnell Park is still very much unclear.
