Hickey sets sights on All-Ireland

Kilkenny and Leinster junior club hurling champions Dunnamaggin are gunning for All-Ireland glory, according to selector Tom Hickey.

The former Kilkenny hurling captain watched on with pride as Dunnamaggin became the eighth club from the county in ten years to win the provincial Club JHC, beating Na Fianna of Meath in Saturday’s decider at Nowlan Park.

“You don’t get many chances to win an All-Ireland,” he told The Kilkenny People. “That is what is ahead of us now.

“We will enjoy the Christmas but we have to make the best of the opportunity in front of us. We might never get another chance.”

“Since we won the county final there is a weight off our shoulders. You can express yourself better in a competition like this. We have everybody available and the squad is getting stronger. We are in a good place right now.”
