Hogan boost for Kilkenny

April 19, 2018

Wexford's Paul Morris and Richie Hogan of Kilkenny

Following the news that team captain Cillian Buckley could be sidelined for a number of weeks, Kilkenny have received a boost from another injured player.

Richie Hogan has been sidelined since the start of the year and missed the entire National Hurling League campaign.

The Danesfort attacker has been struggling with a back injury since last year, but the Kilkenny People report that he is close to a comeback.

The provincial paper states that Hogan will be back in full training in a fortnight's time and his return to the squad will be a massive boost to the Cats.

Whether or not Hogan will be fit enough to start the Leinster SHC opener against Dublin at Parnell Park on Sunday, May 13th remains to be seen.

However, the former All-Star is sure to play a big part in this year's championship and with Paul Murphy and Colin Fennelly returning from army duty early next month, the Cats could be in for a big summer yet.
