Kilkenny captain Cillian Buckley believes that winning matches breathes confidence into a side as they prepare for the start of the Leinster SHC.
The Cats have won their last six games in a row culminating with them being crowned the National League champions once again.
They now turn their attentions to the new look provincial campaign and Buckley feels that the young guns in the squad will have taken massive confidence from the league title win.
This is all a far cry from when they lost their opening two games in the NHL and many were saying that they were a spent force.
"Winning is a habit and that's what we wanted to get into the habit of doing. It was an uphill battle, but one we faced into. We came out on top - for now anyway - but no doubt everyone will be gunning for us again," Buckley told the Kilkenny People.
He added: "Management laid down the plan well and players responded to it. We wanted to be playing games and while they came thick and fast we came out on the right side of that schedule in the end. Being able to put that piece of silverware on the table makes the last few weeks all the more worthwhile."
