Bernard Brogan will open his new bar in Kilkenny tonight.

Kilkenny mayor Cllr Michael Doyle will join the Dublin football star for the official opening of 'Brogan's Bar' on John's Street.

Bernard's parents, Bernard Snr and Marie, lived in Kilkenny in the 1970s and Bernard Snr trained the Kilkenny team at that time. Last year, Bernard Snr and his sons Alan and Bernard Jnr purchased the Pillo Hotel in Ashbourne, Co. Meath for a reported €8 million.
