Feely can dispute any of his three black cards

Kevin Feely seems to have a decent chance of being cleared for Saturday week's Qualifier against Armagh.

The influential Kildare midfielder was black-carded seven minutes from the end of Sunday's Leinster SFC final defeat to Dublin and is now in danger of being suspended for the vital Round 4B clash with the Orchard County at Croke Park.

An automatic one-match ban is applicable for a player who has received three black cards inside one calendar year and Feely was previously also carded during the Lilywhites' league games against Cork and Clare in February and March respectively.

It seems most likely that Kildare will appeal Sunday's black card as manager Cian O'Neill stated afterwards that "he's still not sure what it was for" but they do have other avenues to pursue if they feel that either of the other ones were as soft or softer.

A motion was passed at Congress last year decreeing that a player who wants to dispute a black card must wait until they are facing suspension. As he has now reached that point, Feely is allowed to challenge any - and, presumably, all - of the three black cards shown to him in 2017.
