Formerly of Ballymore Eustace and late of Shrowland, Athy, many GAA fans were saddened to hear of the death of the late Bobby Grattan. The Grattan family traded at Chapel Street for decades and Bobby will be remembered fondly by local handball and Gaelic football supporters. An accomplished handballer, he had secured titles in hardball at all levels and played Gaelic football as a young man.

Sadly, Bobby is predeceased by his wife, Teresa nee Whelan, who died in 1984, only four years into their marriage. After a funeral service at Kilberry Church, the late Mr Grattan was brought to the churchyard of St John's Church, Ballymore Eustace where he was finally laid to rest. The late Bobby Grattan,may he rest in peace.
