Late Peg Thorpe:
An Appreciation

Ballyteague GFC was shocked and saddened with the recent and untimely passing of the late Peg Thorpe. Peg was, a kind friend of our club, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a keen follower of all sports, and could hold her own in any sport topic discussion.
The GAA she was deeply involved, especially at club fund raising, also her talents included taking part in the Scor talent competition. Her favourite was the novelty act in which she won county titles for the club.
Peg played a big part in our social club committee for a long number of years. A keen follower of the Larks, and Kildare teams, following them all over Ireland in all weathers.
Despite her recent illness (which she bravely fought), took part in huge project to raise funds for the Oncology Unit Naas Hospital, and with the help of her family and kind friends raised a massive sum of 53,000.
A remarkable lady, she will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate to have know her; her popularity was shown at the huge funeral attendance.
The Club extends sincere sympathy to Mick, Dermot, Michelle, Padraic and Glen, all her relatives and large circle of friends.
Go dheann Dia trocaire ar ainm.
