Kildare have released a statement distancing themselves from reports that Jack O’Connor could be their next senior football manager.
A report in this morning’s Irish Independent claimed that the Lilywhites had lined up former Kerry All-Ireland-winning boss O’Connor as successor to Cian O’Neill, who stepped down during the summer.
However, the County Board made the unusual move of releasing a statement via their official website and Twitter clarifying that an appointment is not imminent.
The statement reads: “Kildare GAA wish to state that there is no decision made on the position of the Kildare Senior Football Manager.”
