Kildare 8-19

Warwickshire 0-6

Kildare made it two wins from two in Division 2B of the Allianz Hurling League when they hammered newly-promoted Warwickshire in Newbridge this afternoon.

The Christy Ring Cup champions, who were relegated from Division 2A last year, followed up on their first round victory over Donegal last weekend with an utterly dominant performance. They had already opened up a 0-8 to 0-1 lead before Barry Cormack scored their first goal in the eighth minute.

Two Brian Byrne majors in the space of a minute increase Kildare's advantage to 3-8 to 0-2 after 22 minutes. There was no respite for the Exiles as Bernard Deay added a fourth goal and Paul Divilly and Byrne shot points to leave David Herity's charges perched on a 4-13 to 0-4 lead at the break.

It continued to be one-way traffic in the second half as further green flags from Reece Gavin, Kevin Whelan and Mark Delaney handed the hosts the easiest of wins.
