New Kildare football coach Alan Flynn adopted a diplomatic stance when queried about Daniel Flynn’s decision to opt out of inter-county football in 2019.
The Galway native was recently added to Cian O’Neill’s backroom team and when asked by the Leinster Leader if the loss of the All-Star nominee was a big set-back, he answered: “I never had Daniel so I can’t say, but I am aware he is a top player but no doubt he will be back but really I am just concentrating on the players available to me.”
Flynn – who was part of the Clare football set up for the last two years- is looking forward to getting started with the Lilywhites.
“I will get to know the lads quickly and they will get to know me; it is really a very exciting time and I am really looking forward to it; can’t wait to get out on the pitch.”
