Monaghan 2-11
Kildare 0-8
Aaron Mulligan and Donnacha Swinburne scored goals in either half as Monaghan swatted aside Kildare's challenge at TEG Cusack Park to qualify for their first All-Ireland MFC semi-final since 2013.
Seamus McEnaney's charges will face five-in-a-row chasing Kerry in the penultimate round on August 11/12 after an impressive season to date which has yielded Ulster championship and league honours.
With Padraig Behan in fine scoring form, Kildare led by 0-3 to 0-2 after 12 minutes before Mulligan levelled and then scored the opening goal in the 19th minute after being set up by Sean Jones. Loughlin Power and Jones added further scores to help the Farney to a 1-5 to 0-5 interval lead.
Monaghan tightened their grip on proceedings in the first five minutes of the second half when Jones and Mulligan points were followed by Swinburne's goal. Kildare narrowed the gap to six points, 0-8 to 2-8, thanks to scores from Behan, Eoghan O'Haire and Sam Reilly, but Banty's boys weren't to be denied as Swinburne, Jones and Karl Gallagher completed the scoring.
