'Go easy on us, Ross!'

Luke Dempsey has jokingly asked Moorefield manager Ross Glavin to 'go easy' on his St. Loman's team in Sunday week's Leinster club SFC final.

Glavin played under Dempsey when he guided the Newbridge outfit to back-to-back Kildare SFC titles in 2013 and '14, and now the two will find themselves in opposing dug-outs.

"They have a Leinster title under their belt (2006) and I am sure they wouldn't begrudge Loman's one. If you are listening Ross and the boys, go easy on us in two weeks' time," the St. Loman's manager is quoted in the Irish Daily Star.

"You couldn't ask to be in with a nicer group of lads than the Moorefield lads. Ross Glavin, I had him for two years when we won two-in-a-row a few years ago. He is a great manager and they are great players. It will be a novel final between two teams that will try to play open football. It will be a great day out for both clubs."

Loman's staged another comeback to beat Simonstown Gaels of Meath yesterday and Dempsey says the Leinster final will be a great occasion for the Mullingar club.

"To get to the final was the main objective. It is a novelty to get there and when you get there, you have to do everything you can to win it, but to be in it is just marvellous for the St. Loman's club. The players thoroughly deserve this."
