The Late Sean MacMonagle
Hundreds attended the funeral of the well known businessman, Sean MacMonagle who passed away in the Mercy Hospital in Cork on November 29, 2005.
Mr MacMonagle was 84 years of age and had been ill for a short time before his death.
He joined the family business Kilarney Printing Works in 1939 and worked alongside his brother Paddy until he retired in 2001.
As sales and marketing director with Kilarney Printing Works, Mr MacMonagle was often on the road meeting new customers and building up the business.
His father Daniel set up Killarney Printing Works in 1913 and was the publisher of the original Kingdom Newspaper in 1923.
Mr MacMonagle's brothers' Harry and Donal and son Philip reestablished The Kingdom in the early 1980s.
Mr MacMonagle enjoyed fishing in his spare time and often spent a day in his boat on the Lakes of Killarney with his good friends William Coleman, Jackie Lyne and Pat Curran.
He was also passionate about football and was a Dr Crokes supporter.
Mr MacMonagle was always keenly interested in the Kerry team and was a regular at matches.
He loved the circus and never missed one when it came to town.
Mr MacMonagle is survived by his wife Lil (nee Cremin a native of Knocknagree), his sons Philip, Niall, John and David and daughter Riona, brother Paddy, and sisters Kathleen Keogh and Mary Walsh.
Mr MacMonagle is predeceased by three brothers Louis, Harry and Donal.
