Walsh, Paudie

November 29, 2012
Beale and Kerry lose loyal, lifelong supporter: Paudie was born on Christmas Eve in 1953 to Paddy and Molly Walsh at Lahesrough, Ballybunion.

He was on of the seven siblings of the Walsh family. Paudie was a very quite, unassuming man until it came to football, although he never played the game, he was known the length and breath of every football field in Kerry and a lot of Ireland. Football was indeed his passion and Kerry and Beale have both lost one very loyal supporter. He was known far and wide though his love of dance, frequenting the Railway Bar in Abbeyfeale and more recently the Carlton Hotel in Tralee for his weekly dance outings where he joined his wide network of friends.

He loved the interaction and looked forward to it each week. Paudie was good with his hands and helped many a friend. Although a very private man, his friends were many and his days were always filled with them. He loved to spend time with his friends Tom Bosco and Denis, his walking companion. He was a Pioneer for 38 years and had just recently received a certificate from the Blood Transfusion Board for supplying 50pints of blood over his lifetime. Paudie's family would like to thank everyone for their help during theses last few terrible days; people have come from near and far to express their sorrow. Thanks to all who brought food and rendered support during these last few days - it was much appreciated.

A special thanks to the Beale team and the Kerry Supporters Club for their guards of humour. A big thanks also to Fr. Spring and the grave diggers. The hill is getting quiet now, no longer will we see Paudie roam but we will never forget the part he played in our lives. May he dance many dances and support many matches in the heaven that he is now in. May he rest in peace.
