Sheehan, Edward

March 10, 2011
Sadness descended on Abbeydorney and beyond recently as news spread on the passing of Edward (Ned) Sheehan, who passed away surrounded by his family on the 27th of February.
Edward was born in January 1982 the youngest of six children to parents John Joe and Kathleen Sheehan and was a brother to John, Patrick (RIP), William, Mike and sister Margaret.
From an early age he developed a great interest in the GAA and played with his home club Abbeydorney with whom he proudly won a County Championship medal in 1999.
He had a great love of the outdoors and worked mainly with machinery with local contractors.
Edward had a huge circle of friends with whom he loved to socialise at a good ballad session.
Edward left for Australia in September '10 and loved the short time he had spent there and acquired many friends.
Edwards family would like to sincerely thank Dr Sheehan, nurses and staff at the Palliative Care Unit and all the nursing, medical and catering staff at Muckross Ward, the many family and friends who assisted in any way, the Abbeydorney GAA who provided the guard of honour.
Edward will be sadly missed by his parents, brothers, sister, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law and many friends.
May his gentle soul find eternal peace in Heaven.
