Darren McCurry says it was a dream come true to play for Tyrone on his home pitch in Edendork.

Sunday’s Division One clash with Kerry was switched to Páirc Arthur Mallon after Healy Park in Omagh was deemed unplayable in the throes of Storm Ciara. McCurry was equally unplayable as he inspired the Red Hands to a magnificent victory over the Munster champions:

“I was never as grateful as my ambition was always to get playing a league match on my home ground. When I got the news the match was coming here I was absolutely delighted,” he told The Irish Sun.

“I’ve probably hit hundreds of thousands of shots into these goals. My house is just over the road. I know every blade of grass here and I’ve covered every blade. If you can’t play well on your home patch, you can forget it. I loved the reception I was getting.”
