Kerry boss Eamonn Fitzmaurice feels the standard between all four teams in Group 1 of the inaugural Super 8s has been very close to date.

The Kingdom take on Kildare in Killarney later this evening (throw-in 6pm) in what is a must-win game for the home side, having failed to register a victory in their opening two games, and Fitzmaurice knows his team will get nothing easy from the already eliminated Lilywhites.

"Kildare have played a lot of very good football, not just in the Super 8s but against Mayo and Fermanagh," Fitzmaurice is quoted saying by the Irish Independent.

"They have been a team transformed over the summer. Galway have been impressive with two wins and Monaghan were within an ace of being in the semi-finals so the standard is very even.

"There is very little between the teams and I am delighted, considering the way the first weekend worked out, that we are there with a fighting chance."
