Kildare boss Cian O'Neill has given the nod to Sarsfields attacker Ben McCormack for this Sunday's crucial Division 1 meeting with Kerry in Tralee.

McCormack starts at right corner-forward with David Slattery making way from the Lilywhites' five-point defeat to Mayo last time out. The only other change in personnel sees Johnny Byrne replacing Cian O'Donoghue at right half-back.

O'Neill's charges need a win to avoid demotion back down to Division 2 and are 7/2 outsiders to do so against the Munster champions.

Throw-in at Austin Stack Park is at 2pm.

Kildare (FL1 v Kerry): Mark Donnellan; Peter Kelly, David Hyland, Mick O'Grady; Johnny Byrne, Eoin Doyle, Kevin Flynn; Kevin Feely, Tommy Moolick; Fergal Conway, Keith Cribbin, Paddy Brophy; Ben McCormack, Daniel Flynn, Niall Kelly
