Injury concerns over Kerry duo

Kerry duo Paul Geaney and Sean O'Shea.

Kerry manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice has revealed that both Paul Geaney and Sean O'Shea are doubtful for Saturday's clash against Kildare.

The Kingdom need to pick up a win to avoid being sucked into a relegation battle and if they do succeed in this NFL 1 clash, it will confirm Kildare's relegation.

However, Kerry look set to be without both Geaney and O'Shea after the duo were forced off injured during their comprehensive defeat to Dublin at Croke Park last Sunday.

"They both were injured, they were gone at half time. I don't know what their situation is at the moment with regard the weekend. They both got knocks so that was it," Fitzgerald told the Kerryman.

The Kerry manager went on to add that there was mixed news over the rest of the players who had been sidelined in recent times.

"Stephen O'Brien had a bit of a hamstring injury. We would be hoping next weekend but we will have to wait and see. Donnchadh (Walsh) won't be back, Darran (O'Sullivan) maybe. He played county league at the weekend so hopefully with that game under his belt it'll bring him a bit further down the line.

"There's been complications with some of the lads returning. We'd have liked them back a bit sooner but it hasn't happened for different reasons so we just go with what we have."
