An Ghaeltacht capped off a hugely successful year by adding the West Kerry SFC title to their haul of honours yesterday.

A Sean O Bambaire goal three into injury-time gave the club of the O Se's a dramatic 2-4 to 0-9 victory over Dingle, for whom All Star forward Paul Geaney accounted for all but two of their scores.

It was An Ghaeltacht's fifth trophy of 2017, with the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta, Kerry IFC and Munster club IFC titles being the big ones. Their next big game will be against Sean Cavanagh's Moy in the All-Ireland club IFC semi-final on January 21.

Meanwhile, Aidan O'Mahony's Rathmore completed a four-in-a-row of East Kerry SFC successes when Donal O'Sullivan's late point saw them edge out Legion by 0-11 to 0-10 at Fitzgerald Stadium. Legion received a bye into the O'Donoghue Cup final after Dr Crokes were thrown out for refusing to field ahead of their Munster club SFC final defeat to Nemo Rangers eight days ago.
