Provincial success came the way of Slaughtneil, Corofin and Nemo Rangers yesterday while St Loman's and Moorefield booked their Leinster final tickets…
1. Shane Murphy (Dr Crokes)
The Dr Crokes netminder kept his team in the hunt at Pairc Ui Rinn with a string of fine saves but was powerless to prevent them from slipping to an 0-11 to 0-16 defeat.
2. Karl McKaigue (Slaughtneil)
The Derry champions retained their provincial title with a convincing eight-point win over Cavan Gaels.
3. Brendan Rogers (Slaughtneil)
Always looking to put his team on the front foot, the combative full-back sets the tone for much of Slaughtneil's good work.
4. Liam Silke (Corofin)
A trademark Silke run created the opening for Corofin's first goal which was scored by Colin Brady in the 10th minute.
5. Dylan Wall (Corofin)
Wall also got forward to good effect against Castlebar Mitchels and he set up Micheal Lundy for the Galway side's decisive second goal.
6. Chrissy McKaigue (Slaughtneil)
Cavan Gaels' plan to man-mark the Oak Leaf star in a bid to curb his influence didn't yield the desired effect.
7. Paddy Dowdall (St Loman's)
St Loman's fought back to overturn a seven-point deficit against Simonstown and the experienced defender was a central figure in their two-point success.
8. Paul Sharry (St Loman's)
With assistance from John Heslin, Sharry wrestled control of the midfield area from their Meath opponents in the second-half.
9. Alan O'Donovan (Nemo Rangers)
Nemo Rangers upset the odds to claim a 16th provincial crown and O'Donovan laid solid foundations for their win around the middle third of the field.
10. Micheal Lundy (Corofin)
Just 10 days after undergoing an operation to have his appendix removed, Lundy scored Corofin's second goal and picked up his fourth Connacht SFC medal.
11. Shane McGuigan (Slaughtneil)
Top scored for Mickey Moran's side with an impressive return of 1-6, which included 1-4 from general play.
12. Eanna O'Connor (Moorefield)
The son of former Kerry senior football supremo Jack came in for special praise from his manager Ross Glavin after kicking 0-8 (5 fs, 1 45) against Rathnew.
13. Luke Connolly (Nemo Rangers)
Connolly was a constant thorn in the side of the Nemo Rangers defence and finished the Munster decider with 0-10 to his name.
14. Paddy Gumley (Nemo Rangers)
Connolly's full-forward line colleague also caused plenty of headaches for the opposition and sent over three points.
15. Niall Hurley Lynch (Moorefield)
The corner-forward pick-pocketed Rathnew to the tune of 1-3 in Aughrim.
