Brennan: that doesn't benefit anyone

Kilkenny's 52-point mauling of Derry in yesterday's All-Ireland U-21 HC semi-final should be the catalyst for change to the competition's format, according to Eddie Brennan.

It was all one-way traffic in the Leinster versus Ulster semi-final at Semple Stadium and the 8-35 to 0-7 scoreline should make the powers-that-be sit up and take notice.

It was far from ideal preparation for Cats boss Brennan and his players ahead of their final showdown with Limerick.

"That doesn't benefit anyone," he told TG4.

"If you were going to look at possibly introducing an open draw to pilot it and see how it works, maybe U21 level is the one to go."
