Here are our standout performers from yesterday's epic All-Ireland SHC semi-final between Galway and Tipperary.

1. Colm Callanan (Galway): While Darren Gleeson made a solid return between the posts for Tipp, he was eclipsed by Callanan who made two crucial saves to deny his namesake Seamus late in the first half and Noel McGrath in the 51^st minute.

2. Donagh Maher (Tipperary): Held firm under the high ball and eventually got to grips with Conor Cooney who started very strongly.

3. Daithi Burke (Galway): Won his duel with Seamus Callanan, producing a brilliant block in the first half and making a monstrous catch as Tipp came in search of a late winner.

4. Adrian Tuohy (Galway): Read the game very well, but could potentially miss the All-Ireland final for alleged interference with Patrick 'Bonner' Maher's helmet.

5. Padraig Mannion (Galway): Excellent all-round performance from the wing back who won a vital free near the end.

6. Gearoid McInerney (Galway): The Oranmore-Maree clubman was immense at the heart of the Galway defence and was a worthy recipient of the RTE Man of the Match award. His massive hit on Padraic Maher was worth the admission price alone.

7. Padraic Maher (Tipperary): The Tipp captain was his team's top performer, scoring two points in the process.

8. Brendan Maher (Tipperary): Scored three points in a strong showing at midfield, including the equaliser from a long-range free before Joe Canning's late winner.

9. Johnny Coen (Galway): Not his best ever game by any means, but hit two points early on and laid on the winning point for Canning when others might have been tempted to take on the shot themselves.

10. Dan McCormack (Tipperary): Excelled in a sweeper role in front of the Tipp half back line and won the late free which Brendan Maher converted.

11. Joe Canning (Galway): Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Produced a storming last 15 minutes which culminated in his sensational winning score from on the Cusack Park sideline. Canning really stood up when he was needed. A mystery how he wasn't shortlisted for the RTE Man of the Match award.

12. Joseph Cooney (Galway): Not as prominent as he was in the Leinster final, but still got through an amount of work, winning a number of frees and posing a big aerial threat to Tipp.

13. Conor Whelan (Galway): Back to his razor-sharp best with four brilliantly-taken points. A definite contender for Hurler of the Year.

14. Johnny Glynn (Galway): Didn't start, but the New York-based powerhouse had the Tipp defence at sixes and sevens when he came on for the ineffective Cathal Mannion.

15. John O'Dwyer (Tipperary): Without reaching any great heights, 'Bubbles' pilfered three points and could have forced a replay, only for his last-gasp attempt for a point from near the Hogan Stand sideline to drift wide.
