Galway's Jack Canning scores his sides opening goal

Galway with take on Leinster champions Kilkenny in the last four of the All-Ireland MHC after they put Clare to the sword in today's last eight fixture at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

Jeffrey Lynskey's charges prevailed on a scoreline of 2-19 to 1-12 thanks to goals in each half from Jack Canning and Enda Fahy.

Canning's green flag separated the sides at the break (1-7 to 0-7) and they pulled away after the resumption to record a comfortable 10 point success.

Fahy's 53rd minute goal boosted them into a 2-17 to 0-11 lead before Gary Cooney netted a late consolation goal for the Banner County.

The winners now turn their attention to a semi-final date with the Cats which is scheduled to be played at Croke Park on Sunday, August 6th.
