Clare joint manager Donal Moloney was magnanimous in defeat following today's Munster SHC decider.

He rued a number of missed scoring opportunities by his team but added that Cork deserved their victory.

"A huge disappointment but having said that I thought the players went down fighting," he told 'The Sunday Game' shortly after the final whistle in Semple Stadium.

"We probably left a lot of opportunities on the table out there. We hit the crossbar, hit the upright. Some of the shots that we would expect to sail over on another day went wide for us today.

"Every time we got close, and it's a sign of a good team, Cork managed to edge that couple of points ahead again so full credit to them.

"They bring some following, there was some atmosphere out there today. It was incredible and fair play to them. Congratulations to Cork on their victory."
