Tipperary's Jason Forde has failed in his bid to have his one match ban overturned.

The midfielder is set to miss Sunday's Munster SHC quarter-final clash with Cork after his appeal to the GAA's Central Hearings Committee fell on deaf ears.

The Silvermines clubman was initially hit with a two match suspension following an on field altercation with Wexford manager Davy Fitzgerald during the Allianz HL semi-final.

The GAA's Central Hearings Committee subsequently reduced his punishment to one game but Forde appealed that to the Central Appeals Committee and after a hearing last night his suspension was upheld.

The Premier County and Forde still have the option of taking their appeal to the Disputes Resolutions Authority.
