Tipperary manager Michael Ryan feels that a hectic league schedule took its toll on his players.
The All-Ireland champions were comfortably beaten by Galway in the NHL final last weekend in what could only be described as a flat performance.
Ryan was not making any excuses for the performance, as he felt Galway were deserved winners, but he did stress to the Tipperary Star that the workload on the players is tough.
"Eight high-calibre games in ten weeks certainly seems to have taken it's toll on us," said Ryan.
"It's not ideal from our perspective - these guys are not machines. We had set our plans on winning and being able to rest guys for the week ahead. We will follow that plan but it is a real concern of ours, the workload that is expected of them."
