McManus taking nothing for granted

Antrim's Neil McManus

Neil McManus says Cushendall won't be underestimating Portaferry's challenge in Sunday's Ulster club SHC final.

The Antrim champions, who needed a replay to get past Slaughtneil in the semi-final, are hot favourites to claim provincial honours, but McManus is taking nothing for granted.

"We'd be very wary of Portaferry," the county star told the Irish Daily Star.

"Both teams know each other inside out because the three senior Donw teams all play in the Antrim league. They know plenty about us too and with Ballycran having won the league this year, a lot of people expected them to win the Down championship.

"Luckily for ourselves, we played Portaferry in a challenge game just before the Antrim championship took place."
