Scots name squad for shinty/hurling series

Scotland have included three newcomers in their squad for the annual shinty/hurling international series which takes place later this month.

Lovat's Lorne Mackay, Calum Miller, of Kyles Athletic, and Skye's Steven Morrison have been named in Ronald Ross's panel for the two tests in Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday, October 18 and Pairc Esler, Newry on Saturday, October 25.

Ross told the Highland News: "I am delighted with the squad we have selected for this year's international matches.  We have a skilful, fast and mobile group of players who I am confident will provide a highly competitive match and do their best to secure a first series victory for Scotland."

An U21 tie between the two countries will also take place at Pairc Esler on October 25.
