The meeting of old rivals Cork and Kilkenny will launch next year's Allianz Hurling League.

The Division 1A clash of the Munster and Leinster champions will take place under lights at Pairc Ui Rinn on St. Valentine's Day, which falls on a Saturday. All-Ireland finalists Tipperary are bound for Dublin the next day, while Galway will be at home to last year's All-Ireland champions Clare.

Could we see Anthony Daly - whose name continues to be linked with the Galway manager's position - in opposition to his former Clare team-mate Davy Fitzgerald that day?

The standout first round game in Division 1B is the meeting of Munster rivals Limerick and Waterford, who were relegated from the top flight last season.

The fixtures, reported this morning by the Irish Examiner and Score.ie, were released to county boards yesterday and are provisional, so they could be subject to change.
