Schutte a long shot

Paul Schutte will almost certainly miss Dublin's All-Ireland SHC quarter-final clash with Tipperary.

As the Dubs bid to secure a third semi-final slot in four years, the influential corner back is struggling to be fit for Sunday's tricky trip to Semple Stadium after a back muscle problem flared up.

The Cuala clubman has been dogged with the problem all summer and manager Anthony Daly has confirmed that he's a major doubt for the weekend after running into difficulty again during a practise game on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Schutte's younger brother Mark is pushing for a place on the bench, having returned to training after dislocated his shoulder in the Leinster semi-final win over Wexford.

But goalkeeper Gary Maguire (thumb) and Niall McMorrow (knee) will definitely play no part against the Premier County in Thurles.
