Clare have been dealt a blow ahead of their All-Ireland SHC quarter-final with the news that David McInerney is now in a race against time to be fit for the July 22nd clash against Tipperary.
The Tulla clubman is believed to have picked up a hamstring injury at training on Tuesday night and could miss out on the Banner men's last eight meeting with the All-Ireland champions on Saturday week.
Joint managers Donal Moloney and Gerry O'Connor will be hoping that McInerney recovers as the 24-year-old looks the most likely candidate to pick up Tipp marksman Seamus Callanan, who notched 3-4 from play against Dublin last weekend.
Reports of McInerney's injury first surfaced on Club Clare this morning.
